I've lived around these parts my entire life, and I hardly knew the natural beauty that surrounds the bustling, busy streets of town. Curtis spotted a little hiking trail just off the road that we drive along every day. Again, taking advantage of the unusually warm February days we have been having, we took the boys out for some exploring.
Our backyard is full of tall, skinny pine trees, but here the trees made Ande look like an ant. The roots alone were as tall as he was.
Owen seemed to develop quite a taste for the outdoors as well!
I loved watching Ande running and hopping over roots, throwing sticks in the creek and watching as they sailed past.
It's crazy how even though we were minutes away from the buzzing highway, we were surrounded by only the quiet of the trickling stream and the leaves crunching under our feet.
I really enjoyed our little escape. Finding a little peace and quiet in nature seems to be a great way to take a step back from all the craziness of life... and just relax.
