Think Happy Thoughts { Fairy Princess Daisy Chain Crown }

Welcome to the 6th installment in my 6 week crochet series, Think Happy Thoughts!
For the next 6 weeks, I will be featuring a free crochet pattern, pattern reviews, and even a giveaway or two.
The theme of this series is centered around fairy tales, and all things magical and mystical.

So, follow me, and take a leap into the land of Happily Ever After...

***Today I am so excited to feature a pattern from a fellow Ravelry.com friend, Rebecca Hill. I found her pattern for the daisy chain garland and it fit in so perfectly with my Think Happy Thoughts series that I had to ask her to post it! If you like what you see, go HERE and check out many more amazing patterns by Rebecca.

Rebecca also has a Ravelry group, Must.Knit.Faster, where she will be hosting a crochet-a-long in February! You should definitely stop by and join in the fun!

Enjoy!***

I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to be Lindsay's guest blogger this week! When she first approached me asking if I would be interested and that the theme is "Think Happy Thoughts," I jumped at the idea. Plus, her blog is yellow and I LOVE that!

When I designed my Fairy Princess Daisy Chain Crown, I was inspired by my daughter Lola who could spend hours running around in her big pink tutu and fairy wings pretending to be all manner of fairy - a healing fairy who could heal animals with special hugs, a tree fairy who protected the trees, or a simple fairy who just preferred to lie beneath the orange trees soaking up the warmth of the spring sun. She had a habit of picking every wildflower she could find, bring it into her room, and cry when it would begin to wither.

Having never successfully crocheted anything, but having mad skills at one long line of single crochet and a great disdain for i-cord, I created the Fairy Princess Daisy Chain Crown. Ironically, my first and only crochet pattern would go on to become my most popular pattern on Ravelry, as well as in my daughter's wardrobe.

If you have never crocheted anything, fear not! This really is a very simple design, and it is bound to be a new favorite in your little one's wardrobe as well.

Thank you Rebecca!
I love her writing style and especially her descriptions of her daughter playing pretend. That is exactly what I had in mind for this crochet series! I wanted to create patterns for items that children can use to dress up and pretend. Anything to foster a child's imagination!

Snapshots { Just Slidin' }

The weather around here has been so ridiculously beautiful that we are spending every spare moment outside. We just can't waste any of these 60 degree days in January!

This picture just reminds me how fast those two boys are growing! Ande is getting so tall and starting to lose his baby fat. Even though he still has his big old pot belly, he has the scrawniest little legs and arms. I have the hardest time finding pants that fit him, if they fit around his teeny bottom, then they are high waters in length! He certainly uses those little legs to do a lot. He is constantly jumping and running and riding. There's only one thing that moves more than his legs and that is his mouth! He never stops talking and every once in a while his conversations with us give us a good chuckle. Last night in the car he said,

"You're stuff on the aisle, Mom, and you're heading out on the road!"

Owen is just the happiest little chunk of baby. He loves anything having to do with Ande and food. He cries when Ande leaves the room, and when he is in the room, Owen's eyes are firmly set on Ande. He just loves and admires that crazy big brother of his so much! He is not even 6 months yet, and can already gobble some pretty hefty meals down. He loves avacados, bananas, sweet potatos, puffs by the handful, and these little cinnamon apple straws that we found today. He loves to sit and play and now we're working on crawling!

These boys sure do keep me busy and as I get ready for a girls weekend out ( to Florida!) with my in-laws, I can't help but miss those babes already! But, that doesn't stop me from being over joyed for a weekend in the warm sun, with a lot of girl time, laughs, and un-interrupted sleep! Is it Wednesday yet?
