Pumpkins and Donkeys

I got Ande the book "Five Little Pumpkins."
I'm sure you've heard the little rhyme...

Five little pumpkins sitting on the gate.
The first one said, "oh my it's getting late!"
The second one said, "there are witches in the air."
The third one said, "but we don't care!"
The fourth one said, "let's run and run and run!"
The fifth one said, "I'm ready for some fun!"
Ooooooooohhh went the wind and OUT went the light!
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!

Anyways, Ande is now obsessed with the book.
I'm not really sure why he loves it so much, but he does.
Whenever he sees a pumpkin, instead of saying "pumpkin," he says "five!"

So last weekend, we took him to a little pumpkin patch, and of course, he was in pumpkin heaven.

It's been unseasonably warm lately.
I think most people are enjoying it, but I am ready for some cool weather.
Warm weather is no fun when the pools aren't even open.
But, at least it's not AS hot as summer.
We can even go to the park in the afternoon without burning up so that's nice.

Look at these handsome fellas!

I mean seriously. These boys are goooooood lookin!

Today, we went over to a petting zoo kind of place called Noah's Landing.
It was pretty cool. They had all sorts of animals from emu's to zebras to lemurs.
But, our favorite were definitely the donkey's.
They are just so funny and the kids got to feed them some yummy carrots!

After all the carrots were gone, Ande just stood there squealing with delight while the donkeys kept wiggling their huge lips through the wire for more food.

What a fun time of year.
I love the falling, colorful leaves, the pumpkins, going to football games, and spending more time outside.
I can't wait for Thanksgiving, and then Christmas when Laurie comes home and we can eat sausage balls galore! Get ready!

  1. Those are some handsome boys, so that makes it a goodlookin' trio.

  2. So fun! I love the "5 little pumkins." Carl tells it to our kids, and CJ was quoting/singing it all October. He would always mess up the order or leave some out, but he would always remember "there are witches in the air!"
