what I'm watching

I must confess.

I am a movie viewing, documentary loving, obsessive-tv-show-watching junkie.

Curtis and I have been blessed with the ability to like pretty much any movie, even if the acting is sub-par. We just really like movies. We also get hooked on tv shows and binge watch every season on Netflix until we've seen them all (some of our long time favorites...Seinfeld, Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, Lost, Psych)

In the summer, our addiction to Netflix gets a little worse since our usual shows aren't "in season."

So in the hopes that you're like me, and are always seeking out new things to watch, here's what I've seen/loved recently on Netflix...

1. Documentary: Nicky's Family
This movie is about the Jewish families who secretly sent their children off to England, and the man who helped them, to keep them safe during WWII. I cried a lot while watching this which is a sign of how much I loved it. With stories of real parents and real children who were separated, never to meet again, this piece of history really hit home to me. I love WWII history, and I love stories of heroism, bravery, and love.

2. Movie: Now is Good
Another cancer  movie. If you read/saw/liked The Fault In Our Stars, then you will also like this movie. It was actually much more moving and emotional for me than TFIOS movie was (the book was awesome, though). It stars Dakota Fanning and I thought she did a great job portraying the many crazy emotions that someone dying of cancer might go through. So good.

3. Tv Series: The Killing
Not your average crime drama. I am actually quite obsessed with this show. It is SO good. The acting is amazing and the story is so compelling and intriguing that you just can't. stop. watching. Rather than having each episode portray a different crime, each season covers just one crime. You just grow to love the strange, messed up characters so much. This is a MUST watch, in my opinion.

4. Period Drama: The Paradise
It took me a while to get into this show, but once I did I really liked it. It's about one of the first department stores in early 20th century England. I wish they would film more than just 2 seasons, but I think it got cancelled. Still, a great period style drama! Also, the costumes and set are a-mazing!

I hope you'll check these out and then let me know what you think! And then I'd love to know, what have you watched recently!?
