from the dungeon to the tower

"We need to move him out of the dungeon and into the tower, babe."

This is how our discussion on decorating the boy's rooms started. Curtis is so clever.

We've lived in this house for a year and a half now, I suppose it's okay to start decorating.
I've been wanting to decorate Ande and Owen's rooms for a while now, but Curtis and I have such a hard time spending money on stuff like that.
Okay...that isn't exactly the reason I keep putting it off.
Basically I do not have the best eye for decor, and this isn't the first time I'll tell you that I'm a horrible painter.
The walls are already a light green, and that isn't going to change, but I want to paint the book and toy shelves white.
I love the crisp, clean look of white furniture.
I know exactly what theme I want for each room, but executing it is a different story.
It's no secret that Ande loves cars and trucks, so that theme is going to have it's place in his room.
For Owen's room I wanted to do some sort of airplane theme.
I also want their rooms full of pictures of our families so when they are lying in bed at night, they can gaze up and remember all the people that love them.

I've been scanning Pinterest for ideas. Whoever invented Pinterest, thank you.
Here are some fun boy room ideas that I've been eyeing...

 I love this airplane art.

See how crisp the white furniture looks? I love the touches of blue and orange in this room too.

Now this bed is amazing. Curtis and I are going to work up a design similar to this for Ande's big boy bed.
A slide on a bed? How awesome is that?

I love the words on the wall and want to do this in both rooms.

Got any decorating tips and tricks? I'd love to hear them.
