small miracles

Ande and Owen are what you might call, "best frenemies." They are each others constant companion and play mate. They are also each others constant annoyance and worst enemy.

They are 2 1/2 years apart and age, so I do find it surprising and wonderful that they (most often) play so well together. Ande loves having someone who will follow along on all of his adventures, and Owen wants to be everywhere and mimic everything that Ande does.

But lately, they seem to butt heads more often than not. Maybe their respective ages are finally making more of a difference. I don't know, but it sure does drive me crazy!

Lately, I've come to expect to play my role of "referee" in the car, but the other day a small miracle happened. I looked back, ready to tell whoever to stop doing whatever, and found the two boys holding hands.

Now, I know this may happen in many-a-loving-family, and my boys show this type of affection to Milo on an hourly basis, but for them to finally be tender with one another again almost shocked me out of my seat belt.

I know there will be many more "that's mine's" and "he hit me's" to come, but that's ok, because {insert some quote about how "you have to experience the bad to better appreciate the good" here}.
