Snapshots { Hollywood! }

While sitting in the airport, on my way home from an amazing Girl's Weekend in Hollywood, FL, I noticed that the waiting area was filled with older couples returning home from cruises. One particular couple caught my attention as they got into a little spat over a sandwich. The husband was wheelchair bound and his wife, after being gone for a long while to get snacks, had come back without a sandwich for him. I guess she had forgotten. The husband was pretty disappointed, but just as he started to complain, the wife got up and went off to find him a sandwich. When she came back the husband, quietly and sweetly said, "Thank you darling, I love you so much, I could just marry you all over again."

Wouldn't it be great if we could always end an argument like that? Whether with our husbands, or even with our children?

While on our trip to Florida, we all decided to come up with something that we could change that would help us improve as mothers and as wives. I already knew I needed a little help with patience, but I wanted to think of something else. I'm so glad that I happened upon that conversation between that little old couple. That is what I want to be like. Lately, I've been pretty snappy with my boys and I usually blame it on lack of sleep, but that is no excuse. I want to be more kind and quick to forgive.

We are so thankful to our amazing husbands who secretly planned this trip for us. It couldn't have come at a more perfect time! None of us were pregnant or had small babies that needed constant care from us, and we were able to enjoy some much needed warmth and sunshine.

We spent a lot of time sleeping in and soaking up the beach.

We spent a little time missing our little ones back home....

And a lot of time being silly and having a whole lot of fun!

We at a lot of ice cream (well, I know I did). We exercised, and did a ton of shopping.
We may have spent 5 hours in one giant thrift store...

Now, if we promise to be good and actually become better wives and mothers, we can do this again next year, right?
