what we read {favorite toddler books}

We really love children's books around here. From the moment Milo gets out of bed in the morning, if he's not bringing me a costume to put on, he's bringing a book for me to read. And now that Ande is reading on his own, it makes looking at books together all the more special.

I'm a big believer in how much reading to a child can effect their learning, growth, and development. And since I know I'm not alone in this, I know you mothers, fathers, grandmothers, and grandpas are loving reading to the babes as much as I am...I thought I'd start sharing some of our favorite children's books with you, in hopes that you will also share some of your favorites with us!

This book is fun for both girls and boys. We love the rhymes, the funny characters, and the colorful pictures. The boys love counting the train cars at the end, and I love how it finishes off with the boy falling fast asleep. It's a great one to help kids wind down before bed! We also love Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site by the same author.

This book is great for learning the alphabet! I love that each letter is indented so the kids can trace their finger to learn the shape of each letter. There are also flaps to lift and look under on each page which is always a favorite with my boys!

Ok, I'm realizing now that I wrote about this book already back in December, but it really is just that cute. We now have several "Otis" books because we just can't resist the sweet, friendly, fun, caring, loving tractor!

So those are a couple of fun books that we are reading to the children lately. What's on your reading Que?
