Get Hooked! { a crochet rose tutorial and lace headband refashion }

I felt a little inspired by my last Friday Finds post. Did you see it? I posted a gorgeous rose cuff bracelet tutorial by Ruffles and Stuff. I wanted to make something similar, but with my own special touch...which usually means adding a little crochet flair!

Here is my creation...

I love how it turned out. The ivory color is so elegant and the rosettes make the headband so feminine and fun!

It is also so versatile. It is not only a great headband, but can also be worn as a cuff bracelet! Wouldn't this be a great flower corsage for Mother's Day?

Here is how I did it:

1. I took an off-white stretchy lace headband that I got in a 3-pack at Claire's a few months ago. Then I whipped up 4 crochet rosettes.

Crochet Rosette Pattern:
Ch 40. Dc in 3rd ch from hook. 3 dc in same ch. 1 sc in next ch. *4 dc in next ch. 1 sc in next ch. Repeat from * all the way to the end. Fasten off leaving a long tail. Roll up into a rose starting with the non-tail end. Attach crochet needle to tail and sew bottom of rose together. Fasten off.

2. Cut a long, skinny piece of felt to place on the inside of the headband.

3. Place the rosettes on the outside of the headband, with the felt strip directly underneath them. Hot glue the rosettes in place.

And that's it! A totally pretty, totally easy headband refashion!
