crochet love {one skein wrap}

A couple weeks ago, I shared a crochet lap blanket that I made for my Granny.
I still haven't had a chance to bring it over to her
  (Sorry Granny! I'm going to bring it this week, I promise!),
but it just felt really good to make something special for her.
Lucky for me, I have two amazing Grandma's, so I decided to make something special for my other one too!

When I saw this pattern, I fell in love right away.
The shawl just looked so drapey and luxurious.
I loved the way it flowed around the model's shoulders and arms.

The pattern is the One Skein Wrap pattern by Marty Miller for Caron Yarns.
It was a well written pattern, and very easy to follow.
The great thing about this shawl is that it looks intricate, but is really so easy to create.
It also worked up really fast, which is always a plus for me.
I used Caron Simply Soft yarn in plum perfect instead of the one pound yarn that it suggested.
So, it actually took me 2 skeins instead of just 1, but no biggie!

I love how it turned out, I love the color (which looks even better and plum-ier in person),
and I can't wait to put it in the mail for my Grandma!

  2. I am making it now with the sage green yarn. Thank you so much for posting it. For some reason I had trouble getting it started with that )@#%! foundation stitch. I had to rip it three times to get it right but I think it's ok now.

    I love the dark color that you picked out. I'm sure your grandmother will love it.
